Small Things Add Up

One of my favorite things to think about is the power of small things adding up. We often forget how if you do the smallest amount of something for a long time, magic happens. We are plagued by the idea that the only way to do a lot is by doing a lot every day. In reality, all you need to do is a small amount.

There's something profound when you think about how much these small things add up. If you read ten pages a day, you'll read about twelve books a year. If you write three hundred words a day, you'll write a book a year. If you run two miles a day, you'll run over seven hundred miles a year. Sit and let that sink in. How profound is this?

This doesn't even take into account exponential growth and incremental improvement. The real beauty is that these things don't take a ton of time. We can all carve out thirty minutes or an hour to do these small things. And if you do, your life will change. You will have enormous growth. You will have an incredible transformation.

So, stop thinking that you have to do a large amount of something. Shift your thinking to appreciating that the small things add up. All it takes is pure consistency. On the other end of consistency is who you want to be and where you want to go. Forget the always having to be perfect. Just show up every day, do the small things, and watch how things compound.

Really make an effort on how to incorporate these small things into your life. It's these things that make all the difference. Not the glamorous productive days where you get a ton done. It's all in the small things you do. The ones who understand this idea are literally unbeatable. Be one of those people.
